Done Deal!

Going Home! It's all over sports fans! After a little over a month in Colombia, I finally get to go see what all the fuss is about in America. Let's see what you got, Gringos! I'm ready.

All we have to do is go to the American Embassy one last time this afternoon in order to pick up my Visa and then it's straight to the airport. We land late tonite and then I wake up in my own room tomorrow morning. More importantly, I get to watch the World Cup Final match from Daddy's 50 inch plasma in HD. I don't know what any of those things are... but they seem very important to Daddy.

Here's a brief re-cap of our time in Bogota...
Instead of a hotel, we stayed at a Hostel. It was full of other Colombian kids who had just adopted parents. I met kids that were getting ready to go live in Italy, Sweden, Germany and Maryland. Daddy had fun teasing the Italian Daddy about his team in the World Cup. When the Italian Daddy responded that America's Team had never even made it to a final, Daddy told him that the real America's Team had 5 championships, baby... and then walked away clapping. The Italian Daddy was very confused... Mommy explained to the Italian that Daddy had been feeling ill lately.
The hostel had a nice backyard where the older kids could run around a little bit.
Meals were included in the price of the lodging, so every day all of the new families would sit together for breakfast, lunch and dinner together. Some of these people have been here for 6 weeks already so they were really good friends with each other. Daddy said it was like being back in high school again and trying to make new friends... and failing.
Mommy's cousin, John, lives in Bogota and works as a musician. He came by to meet me. Mommy said I should love him because he is family. Daddy said I should love him because he used to play with a rock group called Aterciopelados.
John has a son who is my new cousin. His name is Lucas and he was really really nice to me.
That didn't stop me from passing a little gas on him. Welcome to the family Lucas. Beware Miami... here I come!
